If a benchmark fails, a drive does not appear, or results look wrong, work through the sections below. Each section has clear steps. For quick answers, see the 常见问题.
Benchmark fails or stops with an error
Often the program cannot create or write the test file on the selected drive.
Run as administrator: Right-click CrystalDiskMark → "Run as administrator". Performance tests need sufficient privileges on many systems.
Ensure the drive has enough free space for the selected Test Size (e.g. 1 GiB needs at least 1 GB free).
Disable antivirus or add an exclusion for the test folder if it blocks writes.
Try a smaller test size (e.g. 256 MiB) or another drive to see if the issue is drive-specific.
网络驱动器 does not appear in the list
When CrystalDiskMark is run with administrator rights, Windows does not show mapped network drives in the same way.
Fix: Run CrystalDiskMark without administrator rights. When UAC prompts, click No so it runs as a standard user. Then the network drive should appear in the drive dropdown.
Results much lower than expected (e.g. SSD)
Check that you are testing the correct drive (correct letter and disk).
Close other heavy disk usage (backups, updates, downloads, games).
Use the NVMe SSD profile for NVMe drives (Settings → NVMe SSD) for appropriate queue/thread settings.
Some SATA ports or USB ports are slower; try another port or another PC for comparison.
Driver and firmware: update storage and chipset drivers; check for SSD firmware updates from the manufacturer.
Program won't start or crashes on startup
Install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable (e.g. from Microsoft) for your architecture (x64/x86/ARM64).
Try the ZIP version in a folder with a short path (e.g. C:\CDM) and run as admin once.
On Windows 11, ensure Windows Update is current; older 8.0.x had ComboBox fixes for Win11.
Save as Image or Copy doesn't work
Fixed in 8.0.4 and later. Update to the latest 9.0.x. If still failing, run as administrator and ensure the save path is writable.
